However, even the healthiest, 40 -strongest individuals may face psychological challenges due to various 41 -environmental stressors including isolation, confinement, close living quarters,[[image:1629013073345-374.png||style="float:right"]] 42 -monotony of food, delayed communication with MSC, time pressure, scientific or 43 -engineering failures, sleep difficulties, fatigue, etc. In our effort to further human 44 -space exploration in a safe and effective way, we must thoroughly understand and 45 -protect the psychological well-being of the analog astronauts, before, during, and 46 -after the space analog mission. 47 - 48 -This project aims to study analog astronauts anxiety and depression levels before, 49 -during and after space analog mission in order to better understand psychological 50 -well-being in response to known and unknown environmental stressors. This project 51 -further aims to study the correlation between AAs crew anxiety and depression 52 -levels and the possibility of a “third quarter phenomena” (TQP) whereby the first 53 -quarter of the mission may be characterized by excitement or anxiety, the second 54 -quarter by boredom and depression, and the third quarter by increased emotional 55 -outbursts. 56 - 57 -This project has the potential to inform prevention strategies including resilience 58 -training for the mental health and overall well-being of analog astronauts at the 59 -individual and group level. 60 - 61 - 62 - 63 - 64 -= Experiment Data = 65 - 66 -|=(% style="width: 161px;" %)Date|=(% style="width: 1678px;" %)Files 67 -|(% style="width:161px" %)[[2021-10-04>>https://mission.oewf.org/archive_downloads/amadee20/PSYCHSCALE/2021-10-04/]]|(% style="width:1678px" %)insert desrcr. 68 -|(% style="width:161px" %) |(% style="width:1678px" %) 69 -|(% style="width:161px" %) |(% style="width:1678px" %) 70 -|(% style="width:161px" %) |(% style="width:1678px" %) 71 -|(% style="width:161px" %) |(% style="width:1678px" %)
