However, even the healthiest, 26 -strongest individuals may face psychological challenges due to various 27 -environmental stressors including isolation, confinement, close living quarters,[[image:1629013073345-374.png||style="float:right"]] 28 -monotony of food, delayed communication with MSC, time pressure, scientific or 29 -engineering failures, sleep difficulties, fatigue, etc. In our effort to further human 30 -space exploration in a safe and effective way, we must thoroughly understand and 31 -protect the psychological well-being of the analog astronauts, before, during, and 32 -after the space analog mission. 33 - 34 -This project aims to study analog astronauts anxiety and depression levels before, 35 -during and after space analog mission in order to better understand psychological 36 -well-being in response to known and unknown environmental stressors. This project 37 -further aims to study the correlation between AAs crew anxiety and depression 38 -levels and the possibility of a “third quarter phenomena” (TQP) whereby the first 39 -quarter of the mission may be characterized by excitement or anxiety, the second 40 -quarter by boredom and depression, and the third quarter by increased emotional 41 -outbursts. 42 - 43 -This project has the potential to inform prevention strategies including resilience 44 -training for the mental health and overall well-being of analog astronauts at the 45 -individual and group level. 46 - 47 - 48 - 49 - 50 - 51 - 52 -= Experiment Data = 53 - 54 -|=(% style="width: 161px;" %)Date|=(% style="width: 1678px;" %)Files 55 -|(% style="width:161px" %)[[2021-10-04>>https://mission.oewf.org/archive_downloads/amadee20/PSYCHSCALE/2021-10-04/]]|(% style="width:1678px" %)insert desrcr. 56 -|(% style="width:161px" %) |(% style="width:1678px" %) 57 -|(% style="width:161px" %) |(% style="width:1678px" %) 58 -|(% style="width:161px" %) |(% style="width:1678px" %) 59 -|(% style="width:161px" %) |(% style="width:1678px" %)
