Aouda.X helmet and head-up display (HUD)

The Head-Up Display/HMI test is directed by the test leader Daniel Lee. It is designed to test the human-machine interface using several different use cases to ensure that operations are intuitive and bugs (logical or technical) are resolved before deployment. The final test iterates through all tabs in the HUD (Head up Display), as well as using all features in each tab in varying orders based on the use case. This test involves eight sub-tests (A – H). The tested HUD can be navigated by a controller which contains six buttons numbered from 2 to 7.

Subtest A: The proper transition of the buttons through the tabs are tested. Every button (2-7) is tested. Subtest A has a duration of approx. 1 minute.

Subtest B: The correct display of the footer in all tabs is tested. One tab after the other is entered (COMMS, TELEM, PROC, MAP, SETT) and checked for the presence of all footer elements. Subtest B has a duration of approx. 3 minutes.

Subtest C: The correct display of the “Minimap” in all tabs is tested. The first three tabs are entered one after another (COMMS, TELEM, PROC) and verified for the presence of the placeholder element “MiniMap Here”. Then the tabs MAP and SETT are entered to verify that the placeholder element “MiniMap” is not present. Subtest C has a duration of approx. 1 minute.

Subtest D: The completeness of all elements of the communication tab is tested. The COMMS tab is entered and verified for the presence of the element “Cam Stream Here”. Subtest D has a duration of approx. 1 minute.

Subtest E: The completeness of all elements of the telemetry tab is tested. The TELEM tab is entered. Verification if the following elements are present: “Helmet temp.”, “Fan IN 1”, “Fan IN 2”, “Helmet hum.”, “Fan OUT 1”, “Fan OUT 2”, “CO2”, “O2”, “Board temp.”, “CPU temp.”, “Heartrate”. Subtest E has a duration of approx. 2 minutes.

Subtest F: The completeness of all elements of the procedures tab is tested. The PROC tab is entered and the presence of the element “Procs Here” is verified. Subtest F has a duration of approx. 1 minute.

Subtest G: The completeness of all elements of the map tab is tested. The MAP tab is entered and the presence of the element “Big Map” is verified. Subtest G has a duration of approx. 1 minute)

Subtest H: The completeness of all elements of the settings tab is tested. The SETT tab is entered and then verified that no placeholder elements are present. Subtest H has a duration of approx. 1 minute.
